Saint Mary's Cathedral, Limerick City

Christmas Charity Concert with Phil Coulter. In support of Novas Limerick and Limerick Marine Search & Rescue.

The Cathedral is delighted to announce that it will welcome world-renowned songwriter and musician, Mr Phil Coulter to the Cathedral for a Christmas Charity Concert on Sunday 8th December at 8.00 pm. Mr Coulter has very kindly agreed to do the concert free of charge in order that proceeds from the event may go to support two local charities – Novas Limerick (which works with the homeless) and Limerick Marine Search & Rescue (which deals with emergencies and saving life in the River Shannon).

Phil Coulter’s long career as a songwriter, producer and recording artiste has been recognised over the years. Very few in the music business can boast of having chart entries in every decade since the sixties.  Even fewer can match the range of Phil’s output – from Eurovision winners to folk classics, from tender ballads to sporting anthems, from Luke Kelly to Elvis Presley!

In a recent poll to find Ireland’s Favourite Folksong Phil was delighted to see THE TOWN I LOVED SO WELL in the top ten of the most popular Irish songs of all time.

On the night Phil will perform a selection of favourites from his extensive repertoire.
